Va app

I don't have any news for anyone, I just wanted people to know that I haven't checked the app in a few days and it's oddly satisfying.
I'm broke, physically and financially but I've decided I need to stop worrying about every... little... thing... I've got enough causes for worry already and I'm starting to clear them out slowly. Good luck to you guys though, I'll keep on moving forward and...

Mental Health

I really think the BetterHelp app/website is great for talking to a therapist by using a chat and video call feature. It’s 90 bucks (65 bucks discounted) a week and not covered by any insurance. Does anyone have anything covered by tricare/insurance that’s like that where we can talk to a licensed professional via chat and video?

DBQ - Mental Disorders (Other than PTSD and Eating Disorders)

Have a C&P on Tues. for a supplemental claim for PTSD. Any reason why this would be the DBQ they are using and not one that doesn’t exclude PTSD.
I am rated for MH secondary if that matters.
Just feels like I’m about to get fucked again.

HLR?

My BDD closed out. Definitely left me with questions about some things. Specially 1 as it relates to MH ratings. I know you can have 1 MH rating. I got 30% PTSD with TBI. The VES C&P exam was only 15 minutes geared only to PTSD deployment, childhood, and I guess social/family history. The C&P exam requested a PTSD exam. Denied (on claim decision) anxiety, insomnia, depression as not service...

Warning: discussion of sexual assault
Throwaway used out of fear
I’m extremely nervous to say this, but here goes. I was drugged and raped several years ago in the military.
I’m beyond the point where I think I need specialized help - someone who understands the military. VA seems to be the best option, but I don’t ever hear good things, but I’m willing give it a try.
I read that VA has programs...
Relapse of cancer

I was service connected for my lymphoma this year. Finished my treatment and was declared in remission last March. Fixing to start treatment again in a few days for a relapse of the same cancer. Do I need to/how do I notify the VA of the relapse under that claim?
The way my paperwork stated is that I would be reevaluated at 2 years post cessation of treatment to determine any residual effects and...
VASH/Homeless benefit

I'm curious, if a homeless Vet is getting housing through the VA or VASH benefit, how long would they have to obtain employment or start paying their own part of the rent? Vet is only 20% service connected disabled, evicted in June, said he'll be signing a lease on Friday. Not employed, no vehicle, in AZ
(And no, can't just ask him. Never get a straight answer.)
Migraine ratings

Looking for advice on getting my migraine claim upped.
I was medically retired in 2020 and I was given SC for my migraines.
I have a paper trail of appointments from active duty and after of migraine complaints, I’ve been on two different meds for them and even though I felt like my C&P went extremely well I was denied a higher rating than 0%. I requested HLR but this was in June and still...
How long should it take for them to call to schedule my exam?
Posted on
I put in my claims at the end of May, and I haven’t gotten a phone call to schedule exams. Going on 4 months, so should I be concerned, or is there anyone I can call? the only thing I’ve done is submit medical records from my psychologist that I’ve been seeing for a couple years. I would upload the screenshot but “claim status is unavailable” right now. Last I checked, I was still at step 2. It...
