What is the most optimal moment to get a Lawyer for your claim? And what can a lawyer exclusively do regarding your claim?

Thinking about getting a lawyer for a few claims but wanna make sure its worth it As someone who is a non attorney , but does have graduate level education and some knowledge of legal research as far as the CFR/USC and case law, im trying to wrap my head around “get a lawyer”. Specifically when and how a lawyer is advantageous outside judicial proceedings(BVA, CVA, Circuit).

I got Invited to apply for TDIU, is this standard across the board? I filed for a increase as my doctors found that my symptoms were getting worse which I’m already rated for. Is it normal for the Va to schedule a disability increase appointment? Like another C&P exam?

I found some emails between me and my wife from when I was on deployment and we managed to pick out a few where I openly mentioned my depression and I think they do a decent job of showing my depression get worse over the course of the deployment.
I want to add them as evidence however I'm unsure of how to do it. Do I print them, scan them, then upload them? Or is there a way to do it digitally? I...
