VA Clinic MH

Hey all,
I was recently rated at 70% PTSD, however, I have not been seeking treatment for my symptoms up until now. I would like to start seeing the mental health providers at my local VA clinic. I'm just wondering what to expect from this type of treatment. Will it be one-on-one counseling, group therapy, medication, or some combination of that? I'm sure much of it will be dependent on their...
Supplemental claim..again

After receiving a bad c&p exam for PTSD, my supplemental claim was denied in less than 30 days.
Some feedback I got from a VSO and you all was to get a outside diagnosis from a psychiatrist or a clinical psychologist so I did. My previous diagnosis was from a LCSW.
My denial letter also said that the VA couldn’t verify the credentials of my IMO’s so I pulled each of their licenses from the state...

He was mainly concerned with clarification of my dependents as they apparently were not listed in the system, which I also updated a few days later. I asked about my claim, he told me I was being granted 70%, (80% total) PTSD back dated to March 2013 when I originally filed. Yes my claim is 9 years4 months and counting. Also said I was being granted 90% total effective January 2019. I got all...
Missed MH C&P. Need help

So as the title says, we are in a bit of a bind here. Ive been helping my fiancé with his claim for the past 8 months and we finally got a PTSD diagnosis from his VA Psych. That triggered a C&P exam despite not having filed the claim yet (we filed intent back in November ‘21).
The evening before the exam he attempted to end his life, and was transported to the VA ER early the day of, resulting in...

Navy Corpsman of 9 years here separated in 2020. I am 100% with a 70% MH rating. I was told by my Voc Rehab counselor basically that they would not approve my wanting to go to school for Social work because of the "trigger" aspect due to the high MH rating. I was told I could re apply if I got letters from my counselors and therapist that I was ok and stable enough to pursue such a career.
Since I...

Can I claim my son having birth defects?
Posted on
I am in the beginning stages of filing VA claims and I saw something along the lines for child with birth defects. Is that just for the Vietnam Era or anytime? My husband and I were dual ARMY, he's still in and I ETS 2012. We have 3 kids together but our last son was born with 3 birth defects. Also, all 3 or my pregnancies also were spontaneous premature deliveries at 35 weeks. Idk if there's any...
