Unemployment
Posted on
I’ve been unemployed since COVID-19 began. Got laid off and such, spent my money on a big move for the family and relying on my GI Bill money to support us. We are in a new state and I don’t have work history here (Florida) am I able to claim Florida unemployment or do I go through NY state (where we moved from)?

MH C&P and bad Divorce worth mentioning?
Posted on
During a MH C&P exam, will they ask about Divorce experience that occurred during my active duty time?I'm just worried if they see that I got divorce while I was active, they might think my mental illness got worse because of "Divorce" not because of any "Service connected/related events". Should I still mention I had a bad divorce that might have worsen my mental condition or not worth mentioning...
Upset, confused, and needing help

So today I found out that my claim which I submitted on 22FEB2022 was closed on 06JUL2022. I had claimed quite a few issues but was only recently scheduled for an exam back on the 29th of June. Long story short, I am too sick to go to the appointment that day and so I call to cancel and reschedule. The LHI rep says he can’t reschedule the appointment and that I have to call the 1-800 number to get...

Statement of Service
Posted on
Hello all! So right now the Navy is behind on DD-214s and my admin drafted up a statement of service in lieu of my 214. I am currently on terminal leave and awaiting my paper. My congressman's office is doing an inquiry on my behalf. However, I was wondering if this statement of service is enough for me to upload for disability and the GI Bill? Thanks in advance for any and all help.
Financial hardship paperwork

How do we turn in financial hardship paperwork? Does it need to be mailed or can it be done online? I’m not sure I’ll qualify since it’s extreme financial hardship and I’m not at risk of being homeless since I live with family but I thought I’d Atleast try it because there are bills that have been sent to collections and I’m barely living paycheck to paycheck. Thanks!
HLR this afternoon for tinnitus denial - help me prepare?

Following from my previous post here, I just wanted to talk out my strategy for the coming meeting and welcome any advice.
So pretty much I want to make sure that I satisfy the three elements they're looking for to grant service connection.
- I was diagnosed with a disability (tinnitus) by the VA. This diagnosis has been affirmed by the VA several times.
- My C&P notes as well as my most recent...
When is it safe to declare mental and physical health issues?
Posted on
I'm an AGR Soldier in the Guard with 17 years active service, is there a "safe" zone where I can stop timing my hearing test, or go to a mental health provider for my PTSD without worrying about being kicked out before I can retire? I've heard people talk about "sanctuary" but I've always thought it was a myth. I once went to marriage counseling for a few sessions and my command got a letter...
How long to wait

I started a claim back in mid May, currently still in evidence collection phase but I haven't heard anything. Already had all my C&P exams.
How long should be a decent time before I call the hotline? Should I try the WH line first or just the general inquiry number?
