Question regarding VR&E

Hello, I have recently started the VR&E program to pay for school. After doing some research, I have seen that I can get the Post 9/11 substance allowance rates. My question is if I receive the substance allowance rates from Post 9/11 while in VR&E, does that take away from my G. I bill? As I plan to use my G.I for further education than bachelors. Thanks for any info
