C&P cancelled on me
Posted on
Just wanted to vent a minute. I took sick leave from work for a 9am C&P appointment this morning. On the way at 8:30, they call me and tell me the appointment is cancelled and I need to call optumserve to reschedule, no sorry for the inconvenience or anything. Then I spend an hour on hold with optumserve to reschedule and they have the audacity to tell if I need to cancel I need to give at least...
How does selling my house and buying a new one work with the VA home loan.

I’m getting out end of this month and about to list my house that I bought 6 years ago with the VA home loan. I still owe plenty on it but the value of my house right now is almost double what I paid for it.
If I sell the house, pay off the VA, do I now get the full value (up to 400k) back for the purchase of my next home? Is it the same if the next person wants to purchase using their VA home...

This sub is a fantastic resource, but it gets absolutely flooded with questions. Don't get me wrong, that's a good thing, but when you post take a minute or two to find an unanswered question that you have knowledge on.

I finally get why people say this process takes years

I used to think some of the posts were dramatic when they’d say it took them “x” number of YEARS “but I finally made it.” I’m a year and a half in on the whole process; my initial claim probably took 8 months and after some time I filed my appeal which has been sitting with ZERO movement since July 23rd. I know this is just a blink of time for many of you but man…I guess I finally understand.

Never give up - benefit paid from 1953 atomic testing

I am vet and C&P examiner. My late uncle participated in Operation Teapot in 1953, and subsequently died from a brain tumor 5 years later. The army and VA did nothing for him or his widow. Two years ago I began the arduous task of gathering every single item requested on the Atomic Veteran's Claim Form. The Freedom of Information Act is slow as fuck, but eventually found 7 pages of military...
