Never give up - benefit paid from 1953 atomic testing
Posted on
I am vet and C&P examiner. My late uncle participated in Operation Teapot in 1953, and subsequently died from a brain tumor 5 years later. The army and VA did nothing for him or his widow. Two years ago I began the arduous task of gathering every single item requested on the Atomic Veteran's Claim Form. The Freedom of Information Act is slow as fuck, but eventually found 7 pages of military records. That paperwork, and dozens of ORIGINAL forms dating from the 1930s were sent in. You have to be absolute meticulous with your paperwork. The end result was a payment of $75,000 to his widow, even though she had subsequently remarried. DO NOT BELIEVE ANYONE WHO SAYS IT CANNOT BE DONE. DO NOT PAY A LAWER FOR SOMETHING YOU CAN DO. If you follow the instructions, you can do this!
