CQ is the worst place to be in garrison.

Here I am sitting at this CQ desk thinking about the career trap that CQ can be. Follow along with me for a second. I’m mainly here to check IDs because only barracks dwellers can enter the barracks without signing in as a guest (reduce SA and vandalism). We have a roster of barracks goblins but nobody in their right mind is lining up every Soldier and asking what room they live in, so it really...
The heat thing...

I hate using the Army/Military card here but I would rather go to some jails then go back to Kuwait. We were only going through Kuwait to get to Iraq, but Kuwait is like this ALL the time. I remember getting off the plane at like 22-2300 (10-11pm) their time and it felt like 50 hairdryers in my face all at once. It got hot in Afghanistan sure, and Iraq sure, but Kuwait is on a whole new level of...
Can I cancel PCS ORDERS

Talked to branch and they said I am going to Korea this November, I’d rather stay and possibly deploy for next year. I got 2 years left of my contract.
Anything I can do ?

Do I have an IG case or just grind it out?

I took over a platoon about 45 days ago now. All 4 squad leaders got moved, MEB, ets, ops, intra post and the outgoing psg went tdy. 1st sausage went on emergency leave and I quickly and/or slowly uncovered a mountain of overdue ncoers, unsubmitted awards, behind on pcs/ets awards, no counselings. I’m getting held to the fire now that 1SGs back to get it caught up, but my take is it’s his mess and...
I did the right thing.

Hey guys. Don’t know how many of you read my previous post but I ended up telling the truth instead of lying at Meps like my recruiter and his two bosses told me to. (Another of his bosses told me to also lie) When I got to my interview the first thing I did was tell the doctor that I put no for counseling and anxiety diagnosis but I did do both of those and she was luckily very nice about it....
FM 7-22

So the latest FM I can find for 7-22 is from 2020, is this still relevant? I’m trying to study for the board and don’t want to read outdated material if it’s not the correct information I need to retain.

I’m tired boss…

Don’t know where to start this but I’m just venting. I’m tired, I’m tired and I’m running out of fucks to give this place. I’m not sure how to go about this so please bear with me and I apologize if this seems like just rambling, I’m just writing this out as it comes to my mind.
I’m getting burnt out but at the same time I feel like “I’m not allowed to”. Like I didn’t….earn it? I know that’s not...
How do you put up with a toxic NCO?
Posted on
I’ve got one NCO every single person who was ever under them hated them except the one guy he openly fraternized with. (Small mos/ PCSing is rare without re-enlisting to do so so yes I actually know everyone he’s had under him) He has refused to set the example, he’s regularly singling out joes, he’s used rank for personal gain, refusing to care about welfare of those underneath them the second it...
Why are US Marines getting suppressors for every rank n file, but Army don't?
Posted on
Isn't Army usually the one who gets all the new cool stuff, while Marines are dirt poor? Eg, Army got optics while Marines were still running iron sights.
So what's different here, suppressors aren't cheap. What's up with Army?

Shout-out to my leadership who tricked me into ending my baby leave early lmao

My leave is good until next week. They told me I HAD to come in Friday because we're leaving next week to a field event and I had to get familiar with my vehicle again. I was like sure whatever. Come to find out the entire battalion is having a BBQ get together and they're forcing me to take th ACFT instead. Even after my squad leader told me I'd just do it next month when we get back. Don't worry...
