If you had an in service injury/event and have waited x amount of years with no follow up treatment to file the claim, then please submit a statement describing how you've lived with the condition and any self treatment you've done for the condition when you submit your claim.
An examiner bases their opinion on the evidence at hand and if they don't see treatment for 20 years they'll most likely...
Chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS)

I have been diagnosed with this condition but I have not been able to get it service-connected despite 3 tries. For those who have service-connected CFS other than through Gulf War service, is it primary or secondary? For those with secondary connection, what is the primary connection?

Static disabilities?

So I learned that currently all my disabilities are static, great news! I currently have a claim in that can take me from 90%-100%, if the outcome is favorable what are my chances of being 100% P&T?

Medical Record Request
Posted on
The VA is requesting access to a medical record to an old provider, but I don’t think that information is relevant to my claim. Do I have to grant them access or give them the file? I know legally I don’t, but I mean will they deny or defer my claim if I don’t. I feel like I have enough supporting evidence and files without this one.

How do I escalate issues with VR&E counselor?
Posted on
I was approved last week and the counselor asked me to send my resume. I sent it the same day and since then, I haven't heard anything back. Calling her office sends me to voicemail. I have tried calling the regional office but the reps don't know what to do. Am I supposed to ask for a supervisor when I call?
I have also tried calling the helpline number, but it rings and hangs up. Not sure if...
Do claims usually take this long? I've gone to all exams and nothing has changed since last year

Bilateral Question -
Posted on
Is it only 10% total for upper body or lower body?
For example - If your ankles are a secondary, and rated for the same condition, thats a total of around 30 percent.
However, if both of your knees have the same condition, do you also get the bilateral 10% additional?
Thanks!!

Additional benefits I may qualify for?

Hello, I am going to school in NYC for three months utilizing the Post 9/11 GI Bill.
I am new to the GI/Bill and wanted to know if there are any other benefits I am missing out on or that veterans qualify for to help fund my living situation whether it be housing, food, clothing, etc. during schooling?
I have a 50% DR, am a Florida citizen.
Thanks.

Reducing compensation?
Posted on
I am filing a claim for carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands. If it is approved as SC, and I later have surgery to correct, will VA reduce to 0% SC because it's fixed? That is the reasoning I got why my hearing loss is 0%...because they give me hearing aids which corrects the problem.
