While on rotation we had an issue with an E7 getting belligerently drunk (despite a nondrinking order) and had caused fights in the tent. He was removed from his PSG position, however, he never faced UCMJ. This same E7 has been placed on a detail away from our unit indefinitely until he retires. He had always joked "It would take an act of Congress to punish me"... It doesn't appear he was joking. I can't find any regs or UCMJ provisions that state special considerations for punishment? Is this written anywhere? Why does senior leadership just seem to get moved as "punishment" while everyone else has their career demolished?
