I want to enlist and have been talking with a recruiter and just took the asvab few days ago and got an 86 and he was ecstatic and has gone full salesman since. I have 2 kids with my fiance and he told me even though her and I are not married yet because we are engaged and have kids it counts and he put me down as married in the paperwork and is telling me I'd receive the BAH when I sign. I'm joining for lots a damn reasons but recieving the BAH was like the big deciding factor for me deciding if this is the best route for the family in the position we are and have been in. But I go to MEPs next week and I've been researching and from what I've seen online it's only married couples who get BAH so I'm curious if the recruiter is just lying to me to boost the recruiting numbers before Oct or if the recruiter is right and that I fall under the married section and will receive BAH right after signing?
