Changing Branches

I'm currently a SrA in the Air Force with 6 years under my belt. I know I've got maybe 3-4 more tries at making SSgt before I hit HYT for my rank.
Not that i'm going to stop studying for SSgt or anything, but was wondering-if I hit HYT in the Air Force and get an honorable DD-214 from them, would I be able to reenlist with the Navy or Coast Guard?
Also does anyone know if hitting HYT active duty...

Did You Do The Student Loan Repayment Program? What Was Your Experience With It?

Has anyone here successfully completed the student loan repayment program?
If so, how many years did it take to pay off your student loans and knowing what you know now do you have a positive or negative view of the program?
In my city they have a program for employees that will allow you to finish paying off your loans if you work for them for about 10 years and make some qualifying payments....
XM7 Rifle

The US Army has switched over to the XM7 Rifle chambered in 6.8mm. Apparently this change was made because there were concerns about the 5.56 round the M4 fired? Why didnt the Army just have Springfield rechamber the M4s? Why did they switch to an entirely new unproven and untested platform?
