Has anyone here successfully completed the student loan repayment program?

If so, how many years did it take to pay off your student loans and knowing what you know now do you have a positive or negative view of the program?

In my city they have a program for employees that will allow you to finish paying off your loans if you work for them for about 10 years and make some qualifying payments. How does the military student loan repayment program stack up to this program?
