I see on the wiki that you can apply for VA healthcare while on terminal leave (currently am for the next 30ish days), but you can't receive treatment until after ETS. That's fine, I just don't a lapse in coverage so I'd like to apply now.

That being said, under the "qualifying items", I can't check any of the boxes because I don't have a VA rating yet (BDD claim) and didn't serve in combat. Otherwise, I served 4.5 years active with an honorable discharge.

Should I wait to receive my rating before applying? Will I be denied if I apply now?
