Question: Asked to provide additional evidence on a claim that already has been denied?

I just open this letter from the VA asking to provide additional evidence for TMJ that was closed in August. It was denied because I have a obscure pulsating vein “muscle spasm” on my right jaw, so it definitively could not be classified as TMJ. I had to go to a TMJ specialist myself and get a diagnosis to name the claim something else. This letter was sent over a month after I already received compensation for the set of claims including the TMJ. Do I need to respond? I already filed a new claim (trying to find the closest thing to the issue, I claimed it as “right jaw muscle spasms” since this is a special condition). I uploaded the document from my TMJ specialist and it has already been closed without a cp exam following it. Not sure if that means it was sufficient evidence or not but I guess I’ll have to wait and see. And if it does get denied what do you recommend? A buddy letter? It closed after I uploaded my evidence so it will explain if it was enough or not in the following months I suppose. [link] [comments] |
