My disability filing
Posted on
When I got out of the AF, I was told at the transition briefing to send in your medical records, never know what they may find. I was told to organize the medical records. I did it in one of those brown pronged folders. I made a table of content listing initial dates of hospital visits and illnesses. Example: 1. 20 January 85 sinusitis (closed) 2. 4 March 86 migraine (ongoing) I placed all records pertaining to the illness in the section as they were numbered. Closed meant, no longer an issue. I had never been in the hospital other than giving birth. Six mos. from the day I filed, I was rated 60%. I listened to the guy at the briefing because he stated if you send in 20 years worth of records for them to look through they will put those aside for the easier ones first. I offered this in hopes it will help someone. I mailed mine in back in 1992.
