1. Make way more money on the civilian side.
2. Only deal with bullshit one weekend a month
3. Still getting decent Middle East deployments
4. You can volunteer for deployments using an app on your phone
5. Transferring units isn’t difficult if you hate the one you’re in
6. Some jobs continue to pay you while deployed so some guys end up making well over 6 figures
7. When the active guys are on Poland rotation you can run down to post and turn a few housewives into hotwives
8. It’s easy to skip a drill weekend and make it up another week basically just chilling in the motor pool and taking a two hour lunch during a 6 hour work day
