So a friend of mine is in the field at Campbell (IYKYK). He came from SOF side of the Army and doesn’t understand why he has to wear face pain at a stationary range. And he’s not even shooting. He’s support.

I’ve never understood this either in my time being in. And even commissioning never brought me any clarity on the burning question.

Why is the conventional army the way it is? I’ve spent 6 months with 5th Group and it was the absolute best experience. Treated like an adult. Show up at this time. First name basis. Got to grow a beard.
