Hi all. I’m in a really bad situation getting ready to PCS and it seems like everything is getting worse.

We got just hit with $6,000 by the IRS because of a mistake H&R Block made when filing my spouses taxes back in 2020. They didn’t factor the house from her previous marriage.

We didn’t know that I had to be on the lease for her to break it early under SCRA so the landlord is charging a $2500 early break fee and is making her pay rent until someone else is able to move in.

She has to vacate the house soon in order for it to start being shown, I’m on an unaccompanied assignment until Nov. we have cats that we can’t find anyone to watch so we’re looking at boarding, but 3 months of boarding is going be $3000-4000. She is staying with a friend who is extremely allergic to cats. We looked at the dogs on deployment, but all the people in her area only take dogs. -We have tried family members, but none of them want to take them.

Anyways… we’re looking at least $10-12k and I’m stressed out trying to figure out what to do.
