Not sure if this type of post is allowed here but I’d like to get insight if I can and I can add pictures . (No I didn’t finance a Camaro at 36% APR) Originally posted this in a financial help subreddit which explains my lack of detail regarding my job/bank. Hello everyone, to give some context I am fairly young (college age) but have been fortunate enough to be employed in a specialized field that makes a decent amount of money. My credit is around a 720 and I have no outstanding debts besides what’s listed below I recently purchased a vehicle from a dealership and financed with them for around 6.99% for 77 months. Everything was fine and I was instantly approved, walked out of the dealership that day with my vehicle and waited patiently for the bank to contact me with details on how to set up my account for payments, etc… A month went by and I received a call from the same individual who originally set up my financing saying “there was a problem with your loan and we switched it to a new bank”. I followed this phone call up asking for information regarding this change and heard nothing besides “come in and fix it”. This dealership is close to a 2 hour drive from me so naturally inquired again on what the change was and got nothing back. Ended up making the drive to find out my rate and been increased to 9% and monthly payments have increased by around $300.00. I decided at this point to just sign the loan and refinance with my credit union at a later date. *I received a link to a survey for the dealership which I filled out and discussed my dissatisfaction with the lack of communication. Fast forward to today. I received a call from the original finance guy telling me I need to come in once again because my rate is changing according to the bank and that I basically need to drop everything and make the drive. I told him that id like to know how this affects my monthly payments and he responded that it didn’t. I told him that I didn’t believe that and he accused me of lying on the previous survey and that I was “going to regret not coming in”. I ended up hanging up on him and asked via text to speak with someone who acts more professionally. Attached below are the texts I received from him. What is the best way to go about dealing with this situation? I have another loan set up with a reputable bank that serves members of the military and I am thinking about having the dealership create a new buyers order so I can go through this organization. Are dealerships allowed to pull my credit multiple times after a loan agreement is signed? I have 8 hard inquiries that have consistently dropped my credit. Any insight on this situation would be greatly appreciated! Thank you. TL;DR Car dealership changed my loan three times and has consistently increased the rate and monthly payments. Dealership employee acts unprofessional and disrespectful. [link] [comments] |
