Are the army recruiters stretching the truth about how easy the reserves are?

A while back when I was in college and wasn’t sure what I wanted to do when I graduated, I talked to an army recruiter. I took the ASVAB and got a 99, and my degree was in computer engineering so they tried to get me to go 17C (cyber operations specialist.) Ultimately I decided that enlisting with a 4 year engineering degree was a bad idea when I had offers for $100k+ in private industry. Now I’m a cyber security professional at a private firm but the army keeps calling and calling. They keep trying to sell me on the reserves as a good option for me, saying “it’s only one weekend a month, and 2 weeks in the summer. Less than one year total time in uniform for a 6 year contract! You can keep your job in private industry, and get all the prestige and benefits of being a veteran for very little work.” The guy literally called it an “extra feather in my cap.” I like to think I’m a smart guy, and if something sounds too good to be true it usually is. I just want a better idea of the risks associated with a decision like this, besides the obvious we go to war and and all the reserves get called to active duty. Can the army just tell me to move across the country randomly or decide to send me on a peacetime deployment overseas for 6 months if I’m in the reserves, or what other drawbacks are there to this that I’m maybe not being told about?
