Allen Edmonds Shoes in AGSU - Did I Err?
Posted on
So I like nice shoes, and didn't want to waste $119 on shoes for the AGSU that I'll rarely wear.
To that end, I bought a pair of Allen Edmonds Carlyle in "Walnut" because I misunderstood that Walnut in DA PAM 670-1 is actually Walnut 0567.
It specifies that the "Shoes, oxford, walnut brown 567, male" are "The shoes are made from an approved specification or pattern or from a similar commercial de- sign and are made of leather. The shoe is dress tie-oxford style with at least three eyelets and a closed toe and heel, with the heel no higher than 2 inches. The shoe is plain with no design in the shoe material."
Are the "Chili" Carlyles more fitting for that? Should I stop trying to be different? Is there a better Allen Edmonds shoe for this purpose? Would prefer something I'd get good use out of, but don't want to draw attention to myself.
