VA Claim/Sick Call records missing.
Posted on
Hindsight being 20/20, I know now that I should have done this the moment I got out in 2009. I'm wanting to file a claim for knee pain/instability. I injured it initially during a run where someone decide that having us run a mile through sand was a good idea. I felt a pop near the end of the run and then I could not really push off with my left leg anymore. Didn't go to sick call until the next day and all I got was a no running profile for 3 weeks. After the 3 weeks, I had issues doing lunges and going up stairs. Time has not been kind to my knee and to this day, I cannot do a lunge with my left knee in front. It will hurt and if I push it, it will give out.
I've looked up my records from my time when this occur on Tricare Online and nothing exists. None of my sick call appointments are in the online record from my time at Fort Bliss. Its very strange, but all sick calls I went to when I was at duty stations other than Fort Bliss are in my record. But the only records from my time at Fort Bliss are pre/post deployment screenings and those were basically just mental health screenings.
Is there anything I can do to show that this injury occurred during my enlistment? Suggestions on how to proceed?
