Received a random deposit to my bank account today from the VA. Checked the website and sure enough they decided my claim today and processed retro payment as well.

Claim submitted: 24 July 2023 C&P exam: 29 August 2023 Decision: 8 September 2023 Retroactive to: August 2022

This is waaay faster than I ever imagined. I imagine having a long record of treatment from my non-VA doctors made the decision easier/quicker. Rated 30% for chronic rhinitis and 30% for chronic sinusitis.

The retro date is strange to me, though. I've had a diagnosis since 2018 and symptoms long before that. Why choose 2022? I didn't expect it to go back before the claim date and have no intentions of arguing, but it's still strange to me. Thoughts?
