Things I wished they taught me before about using and interacting with the VA.

Basically, I filed a claim immediately after I got out for my left knee and tinnitus, and figured that was that. They were approved and I just assumed everything was gravy and left the va stuff alone.
Turns out, the day after they awarded my rating for my claim, they sent me a letter that basically said “are you sure you don’t want to claim your right knee as well, your back, and I don’t know, this possible TBI hanging out in your record?”
Now I finally figured out that I needed to keep up with the VA stuff better, and in a twist of irony, I had filed for all three of those conditions they had asked me about 4.5 years ago, but had never got on the website to read.
I guess in all, for those of us just starting to us the VA, it’s worth keeping up with their letter and paying attention to what they say.
As for me, I blame the TBI, lol. In all truth, that may not be all that far from fact.
