Sinusitis Claim - PACT ACT
Posted on
Hello all, I apologize in advance for the long write up. I got out in 2017 following a deployment to several PACT Act areas such as Oman, UAE, Djibouti, Somalia. I began to use VA services and even was awarded a disability rating in 2019. It never crossed my mind that my sinus issues were related to my service. My doctors were aware of it and wrote it down every time I came in sick. They even wrote down “chronic sinusitis” several times. I have well over 20 pages of doctors visits for this condition. In 2022, I saw an ENT and they immediately performed surgery on me for a deviated septum. Since then, I have not seen any improvement because I still get sick, have dripping, cant breathe/smell, and often become bed ridden until I can function. Just recently, I had to get a doctors note to miss work again. I submitted everything highlighted as well as pictures from the deployment book that I have that shows and states where I was. I also submitted prior to August 14th (Aug 12) and I am now on the third step of the claim process (Sep 2). Any thoughts or advice? Lastly, it’s a really frustrating condition and I didn’t realize how many other vets deal with this as well. Thank you all in advance!
