Need help with a claim
Posted on
I have been out for 5 years and have reoccurring back pain. I remember the day I got hurt and filled out some little form about it but no idea what happened to it after that. I have no paperwork showing that I was ever injured. (At the time it wasn't a major problem)
Since then I have had issues where I pick something up wrong or do some similar action and I get a shooting back pain. It normally hurts a while and the next several days I wake up and can hardly move. I struggle to walk around and I am in pain at work. I went to an Urgent Care one time because I literally could not move for a while. I had to be carried to a car. They gave me some pain pills but that was about it. Not I just kind of suffer through the few days whenever this happens.
It just happened again the other day and I am on day 2 of being in pain and struggling at my job. I pulled up the VA site and logged in and tried to start a claim but keep getting error messages: "We’re sorry. Something went wrong on our end."
I also see where it says to have any relevant paperwork together but my problem is that I don't have any. The Army never gave me anything back where I said I was injured, and I don't have anything current because the only time I ever got medical attention for this, they just gave me pain pills and sent me on my way. Do I need to get some sort of doctors note to be taken seriously, or will that even help since I can't prove I got it while serving? Am I just out of luck or is there something I can do?
Any help would be appreciated, thank you!
