Recently filed for UI benefits after being medically discharged from the service after eight years. There has been an issue with filing and now have a phone interview for eligibility as when certifying weeks for questioning I put “Yes” for too sick/or injured because obviously I was medically discharged for a reason and rated 100% which makes it hard for an employer to hire me with my current diagnosis.

Also starting a job now wouldn’t make sense as I go through a healing process which will lead into school starting in January under the VR&E program.

Will I still be approved for the benefits when I explain this to them? Cause I was basically “laid off” at no fault of my own and currently have no income coming in till VA and MHA kicks in. I live on my own in California.
