Hard time finding employment
Posted on
Hello all, hope all is well. Does anyone else think its hard for disabled vets to get jobs? Been receiving va disability for almost 2 years. The disability just isn't cutting it. I've applied relentlessly on usajobs, had multiple interviews (not anything from usajobs) and they literally said I'm the candidate they picked then never call back and I can't get them to answer. Hoping for a derrickhand job in the Midwest now (of course its gonna be hell on my body thats already half janky body but what you gonna do?) I feel like its discrimination at this point. Even though I struggled to hold a job before the VA compensation came in affect, I still never had problems getting a job but now it feels like a strait up screw you we ain't dealing with this A hole. Been doing my counseling, been doing all my Dr appointments to get "better" and now back in the same boat stressing about finances like every other american. This feels like a double edged sword. Not really interested in college because I've always flunked out and don't want that disappointment again. I've worked production, dealt with explosives, worked in corrections on top of being a DC in the navy (firefighter/engineer) and still come up short it seems. Its making feel worse than before having any VA compensation by confirming im a cripple with severe mental health issuesAnyone else experience this or any advice that will help? Thank you in advance, sorry about the long post.
