Graduated BMT a few weeks ago, and apparently I might have to do a sens skills while I’m here in tech school, which I guess is for security clearances (because SS is what that was for in BMT at least). I was talking to my roommate because he is engaged, and I mentioned I have a partner too. My partner is Russian by birth, and now lives in the United States. She doesn’t have a citizenship (yet). My room mate told me that her being Russian can flag my security clearance purely because she is Russian. I don’t think this is true, but I also am a little worried. Can anyone clear this up?

Edit: his reasoning to why she can trigger security clearance issues is because she isn’t an American citizen and Russia is not America’s best friend.
