Seeking Advice Regarding OCS Application and pending DUI Charge
Posted on
Hello fellow Redditors,
I find myself in a bit of a dilemma and could use some guidance. I'm currently a senior in college, set to graduate at the end of this year, and I've been enlisted in the Army Reserves for some time now. My goal was to apply for Officer Candidate School (OCS) after graduating to further my military career.
Unfortunately, this summer, I made a regrettable mistake and was arrested and charged with a DUI. Now, I'm uncertain about the impact this incident might have on my OCS application and whether it's even worth pursuing at this point.
I'm reaching out to this community in the hopes of getting some insights from those who might have experience or knowledge about similar situations. Has anyone faced a similar challenge or knows someone who has? Are my chances of getting into OCS completely ruined, or is there a way to mitigate the impact of this incident on my application?
Any advice, personal anecdotes, or information on how the military views DUI charges in the context of OCS applications would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help and support.
