Resigning Commission as Captain for Enlistment Opportunity
Posted on
Thinking ahead about my future. I've been in for 10yrs with a deployment. Thinking about resigning as an O-3 with 36 months so I can still get my retirement pay bumped.
What enlisted MOS would be beneficial to my civilian career. I was thinking something technical would be fine like mechanic or allied trades.
Anyone have experience transitioning back to the enlisted side? I was a former 25B when I first joined. Not sure if they would allow a reclass or revert me to my former MOS.
Edit: For reference, I already make $130K on the civilian side. I just want some more skills under my belt (that actually interest me), and I see the Army as a good way to serve while gaining some extra beer money. I just no longer care for the politics and officer-ism. Ready for my rocker and weird ASU alteration for my once a year dining-in. Double double with animal style fries please.
