IS MY BROTHER LYING ABOUT HIS DEPLOYMENT?
Posted on
Short but not sweet. My brother told me he was being deployed overseas randomly one afternoon. It happened all within hours. Our family was devastated and worried about him. We got texts from a SRGT saying the line was now secured by the department of defense. He was deployed for 3 weeks in a far away place that I won't mention. We got to talk to him twice while he was overseas. We got multiple texts from his Srgt. And then we were informed that a few members of his platoon died and we would receive funeral details.. my brother came back to the US to his base after 3 weeks. Where he continued his depression and drinking. He gave alot of detail about the horrible things he saw and it tore our hearts. He began getting even more suicidal then before... mind you, we never received funeral details for the freinds he lost. At one point he said repeatedly he was going to kill himself with a shot gun he had hidden in his ceiling. SO being concerned I called the commander and told him what was going on, where the gun was, and that he didn't need to be in trouble but just needs a counselor to reach out because he was having flash backs and was sad about losing his friend... the commander said "when did he watch his freind get shot".. I said "while he was deployed in ____." Then the commander said "I'm not sure what going on, but no one here has left base or went overseas".... immedatiatly we were so confused and thought, why would our brother lie about this?"... then we get a few texts from our brother saying we ruined his life and will get him a counseling statement and blah blah. Also the commander said they NEVER found a shot gun in his ceiling. My question is, would a commander deny my brother's deployment story all to maintain secrecy?? I figured if he wasn't allowed to discuss it,They would have said that, instead of "no one has left base at all".. he sounded confused. Now a week later my brother got his phone back, told us what trouble we got him in, that he's now a slave, that we can't call him a liar, and that he never wants to speak to us again... and then he blocked us... is it possible my brother is telling the truth about this and the commander is trying to remain secret?? Or is it all a big lie for attention???
