On holiday/vacation right now, and the other day I was outside for a smoke, another gent at the same place came over and we started talking about the weather and other stuff. Suddenly he randomly says, "Are you in the Forces?" I was taken aback, but said I was, I asked how he worked it out, was it my tattoos? "No I can just tell who was in by the way they are."

He has had an interesting career.

We've been chatting for a bit now whenever we bump into each other and it's great to have that level of banter and chew the fat.

But yeah guess the military and mannerisms never leave you.
