I cracked like a fucking egg today at the VA: The happy ending.
Posted on
So a while back I posted about how I finally went to the VA sobbing like a baby, wanted to get help, etc. https://www.reddit.com/r/army/comments/zle1j1/i_cracked_like_a_fucking_egg_today_at_the_va/.
This is how I’m doing about 9 months later in case anyone was curious.
I was gonna type a bunch of shit, but instead I’ll keep it short(ish).
Got my head on straight, immediately was able to see my (now ex) wife was seeing some dude she worked with, played on her co ed sports team that she was so weird about ever missing a game for, etc. It definitely explained a lot of weird behavior that went back to well before last December.
I make sure to get the divorce done as quickly and painlessly as possible. During that, I meet the most amazing woman ever. Accepts me for my flaws, understands what kind of social situations I would rather not be in anymore, and is just a wonderful, caring person. New relationship is going wonderfully, I kept my house, dogs, 50/50 split of the kids, no child support, etc. Some of that did come from my ex deciding not to be a complete nightmare which I’m thankful for, but I definitely had to part ways with a bunch of cash/stuff to get there without a huge fight. It was definitely worth it though. It was quite a process to get to the finish line, ex wife tried pulling everything, threatening me, blocking me from leaving my house to scream at me, hurling absurd accusations at me, wanting to give it another shot, wanting to be hookup buddies, etc. I just kept my head down, declined her weird propositions, covered my ass, and it worked out. We even quasi get along now.
Long story short, cracking like a fucking egg and getting the help I needed has made me the happiest/healthiest I have been in a very long time. Get help and good shit will happen. Also, don’t stay in a trash marriage. Once I got my head on straight, I quickly realized my ex wife was pretty fucking awful to me way more than should ever be acceptable in a relationship.
I’ll just have one baconator this time so I don’t have a stroke or need a rascal to get around. I’ll also take a large fry, hi c, and your finest pre roll.
Have fun shaving 7 days a week.
