Just got out of the service and starting college and feel weird bringing up that I was in the army. The grad school program I'm in is related to my MOS, but I just feel so uncomfortable talking about my experiences even if it's relevant to my coursework. I'm still struggling alot trying to start a new chapter in life and I guess bringing up my time in the Army feels like living in the past and also attention seeking because of the blanket respect veterans get, especially when I don't think I earned it after only serving five years with not alot to show for. At the same time it also feels uncomfortable avoiding talking about something that was such a big part of my adult life. The only time I do bring it up is of I see someone in uniform or if somebody asks me.

Idk where I'm going with this, I guess just if anyone else feels the same way and how to navigate through those feelings.
