Flying home in OCPs
Posted on
I know I know by just reading the title some of you are foaming at the mouth.
I just wanted to hear some other unique opinions about my current situation because im on the fence about it. Basically, im leaving my station overseas in around 2 weeks to go home and see my family and pcs. I haven't seen my family in roughly 2 years because of covid, my group wasn't given the option to take leave after AIT or basic training.
My mom really wants to see me come out of the airplane with my OCPs on...I guess like in the movies? Part of me really does not want extra attention because I'm already going out of my way to pay EXTRA for bags that have no army look whatsoever. My grandpa who served way back is also going to be at the airport and him and I never had a close relationship until I enlisted. Ever since then he's been super proud and hooah about me, bragging to everyone from what I hear. After my leave im going back overseas for the remainder of my contract. Let me know your opinions?
EDIT: I'm aware your not allowed to travel from overseas in uniform. I'm talking about once I land down stateside to switch into OCPs.
