So I'm coming up on 10 years AD and I was thinking I could finish up my degree then get out the army and get a GS job and buy back my 10 years of service and still get a retirement. I've searched the internet to try and find the differences in BRS retirement vs GS retirement but have come up with very few answers. So my question is, is it worth it to stick out the next 10 years with crappy QOL and my wife putting her work goals off for another 10 years (she will be 35 in 10 years), or is it better to get a GS job and spend a little more time working to achieve that retirement while also allowing the wifey to start her career? And what are the differences between the two mentioned retirements?
