We have a new 1SG and he limits CQ NCOs and the runners to only leave the desk for chow and to eat the chow at the desk and to otherwise be gone for no more than 3 minutes. My runner and I haven’t left the desk the entire duty day.

I was told my another NCO that it is mandatory for soldiers to get an hour break for duties like this. I’ve been looking and haven’t been able to find anything so I can dismiss my runner to at least take a break. Does anyone know or are able to provide information about this? He says we aren’t to use our phones or have electronics at the desk. Does he just expect us to sit here for 24 hours and stare at the wall?
