Charging Soldiers for rides to/from work
Posted on
I live in the barracks and I honestly get pretty annoyed at the same SPC asking me for a ride despite there being at least 3 other dudes with cars (who also live on the same floor as he does, I don't) who are also in our platoon/company.
As a Salty CPL, I'm strongly considering charging $2 per Soldier and for each different ride as well.
Is there any regulation specifically stating that I cannot do that?
I am aware of "I will not use my grade or position to attain pleasure, profit, or personal safety"
I personally don't care about profit
As we all know, the price of gas these days is absolutely ridiculous and I cannot see why it wouldn't be reasonable to pass the cost to other Soldiers who can't be bothered to buy their own form of transportation.
For context, I bought my car literally 5 days after arriving to my first unit. I even bought the guys who took me to the dealership 1.5 hours away dinner at a slightly upscale restaurant as a "thank you" gesture.
This guy in particular has already been at the unit for about three months now.
I'm honestly tired of having to pick up the slack of other people just because I'm viewed as "reliable"
I'll have a 5 pc Spicy Tender combo with Cajun Fries and a Dr Pepper
