Growing up I've always thought that it was something that they had to do. But after speaking to a friend who served some time in army, he said that they don't need to do that and also dosnt know why some people will besides maybe looking for attention. Is there any reason for this? I was thinking for military discounts maybe? I see this all the time when I would go to the mall.
