Served in Burma with the First battalion royal scots (fought at kohima and imphal with distinction). Then went onto be part of the British security in india during its partition (i think). Hes managed to evade any searches i've tried to do so any help is appreciated [link] [comments] |
What is the MEPS consult process like?

I was at MEPS for the usual screenings. During my physical, the physician said I may have scoliosis. They sent me over to a nearby hospital for a same-day X-ray. I don't know the results of the x-ray, but I do know I'm going back to MEPS for a consult as soon as it is scheduled. If I do in fact have scoliosis, I will need a waiver. My question is, what is this process like? After the consult, will...
Okay… so how bad is it really? Considering joining… but it seems as though 90% of people (at least on Reddit) regret/trash their time in the military. Is this true?

So I’m 23M and I’m thinking about joining.. but I’m just having some thoughts about how people view their service time on here. Seems like a lot of people complain about their time in the military. It also seems like almost every veteran relished and looks back fondly on their time in the military.
The way I view it is this: yea I know it’s porbably going to suck and it’s going to be a grind.. but...

I've heard that most people don't join "to serve [their] country" or for patriotism, and that most people will think you're dumb if that's your main reason for joining.
I'm currently enlisting and my main reasons are to get healthier and for the traveling and cool experiences that come with joining the Navy, it also would help serve as a distraction from me not feeling like I have a purpose. I...
Aside from the high salary, are there any other perks to being a colonel in the US military?

Just wondering. Since most advisors in the us govt were former generals. Do the fancy perks (job in defence industry) only apply for 1 star general and above?
