I’ve recently bought a few bits of furniture from a local auction house (UK) and within a draw in the bureau was a small hidden compartment, I got it open and found a small brown box with a name and address on it containing 3 WW2 medals and ribbons.

The box has the persons name, service number and previous address within the box, is their a way of finding the family or even the owner of these...

This is a general question that anybody can answer but has anyone met any veterans who have without a doubt seen some serious shit but when given the opportunity to speak about it they seem completely unaffected and almost enthusiastic about what they experienced/witnessed unlike what we would normally expect.

17 m here and I've been interested to joining for military benefits and for better discipline, resilience. I don't know much about it besides the long basic training and it's one of the harder military branches physically, mentally. I don't live near a recruiting station so I can't go there yet. Any advice, tips, past experience would be appreciated.
