Is it mostly kids right out of high school in boot? Would I be in the minority joining at 26?

I’ve been thinking lately that I will regret not joining some branch of the military. Obviously I would be joining quite “late”. I imagine the majority of the ladies in boot would be right our of high school and I would kind of be the token “older” woman.
Being with teenage girls doesn’t sound very fun, but I guess it would be something I’d have to get over if I choose to go this route lol.

Somebody mentioned to me that in Northern Ireland they will need to...

Does anyone know why a DD214 would show character of service as honorable but the actual typed up letter for the commander says "discharged under less than honorable conditions".
Late 60s timeframe.

Before the modern protocol behind military medals finally became what it is today, a number of civilians were awarded medals. Hypothetically, if they had later joined the military after being awarded the medal, should they wear that medal?

Basically the title sums up the whole subject, but let me get a little deeper.
Amelia Earhart, Wiley Post, and a number of other aviators received the Distinguished Flying Cross before the DFC finally became a strictly military-only medal.
If Wiley Post or Amelia Earhart had later joined the U.S. Military, what would the protocol be about their pre-military medals? Also, Earhart received a French...
