Asshole gets what he deserves

So this happened to my dad after he was returning from a training exercise so he was sitting in the back of one of the transports covered in mud and someone overtook the convoy and flipped everyone off before speeding away, a few minutes later they ended up seeing him again sitting by the side of the road with his engine smoking and just slightly on fire so every transport had someone hang out of...
Putting the 'Fun" in Fundraiser

When a lot of young men wander into a recruiter's office, they're dazzled by the sharp-looking dress blues on the posters and dream of all the young ladies they'll attract in that uniform. Recruiters don't dampen their hopes either, instead telling them stories of all the women whose acquaintance they've made since joining (often leaving out the part where they had to pay the tab at the end of...
War Cry and Hot Brass

Didn't know about this sub but it is bringing back Basic Training memories. I was 18 and Female with long hair so it was in a bun. Being forced to have short hair when younger, I wasn't giving it up. This was also several years ago so the.... days are sort of blurred together. This might have happened all on one day, or two separate days. I can't remember, but it was at the same range.
I could...
"I'll re-enlist...in front of HQ on the grass field"
Posted on
I can be petty, I inherit it from my dad. My dad can be a petty little fuck as well. My dads first enlistment was coming to an end and his retention NCO was working on getting him to re-enlist.
Fact is my dad was going re-enlist no matter what, he joined the military to do 20, not 4 and out. But his 1SGT was really particular about the grass in front of their HQ. They even had "No walking on...
Getting Hit with the Reverse Uno

We all know the stories of the young enlisted intentionally spacing themselves out along a sidewalk to force an officer to salute each of them individually. I, a lowly NCO, had the opposite happen.
I'm TDY on Fort Huachuca for a class and leaving from one building there were two options to get back to the building my class was in. The direct route along the sidewalk near the road or a sidewalk...
That time in Basic when I caught a snake and got yelled at.

TL/DR: Basically the title. I caught a snake everyone thought was dangerous but I knew to be harmless and briefly got yelled at for it by our Drill Sergeant.

Ft. Leonardwood, National Guard basic training. I was 17 but was pretty experienced with reptiles, especially snakes. We were doing that bridge building team exercise where you might fall into water. Someone does and scares a 4 foot long...
The gun blew up... Oh well

Well, I eluded to it in my previous post, so here is probably the closest I've come to dying.
Edit: grammatical error
Background:
My service initially started in the Marine Corps, but my battalion decided to mismanage and lose about 60 re-up packages, mine included. The choice to go to the Navy was based on the idea that even if combat deployments aren't available, sea tours mean I'll still get to...
SPC BikerJedi waits for his stupid gunner. [RE-POST]

SPC B, our redneck gunner, had to do it. And my redneck team chief, SGT Mac, was all for it.
So I watched our gunner walk off, alone, into the darkness of the Iraqi desert at about 0300 the night we got word it was over. At least he took his weapon with him, but I was...

Blowing Up a Washing Machine

During my deployment my platoon received a mission to destroy a weapons stash. A small cave in the desert. By this cave was a washer and in it was grenades. So, we slapped C4 on it blow it up. The washer did flips way up high and then fell and the drum inside came out and spinning in the air. We also blew up the cave with a cratering charge and C4. No more weapons holding area.
