A story of my dad taking care of the lazy people drinking his water at night

So, my dad was in the romanian military a long time ago, and he gathered a few stories from that time, and when I was a small kid, he'd tell me these few funny stories, I'll be telling it from his perspective

So, in the military, the soldiers were sleeping in a large room filled with beds, and whenever someone needed water to drink, we'd all have to go outside to crank a water pump a few times to make the water flow through a pipe
I wasn't put in a bed in the same room as all the soldiers, but given small personal room with a bed and a nightstand because I was repairing broken vehicles or electronic equipment
On that nightstand I'd keep a bottle of water that I'd fill up before going to sleep, but each morning I'd find it empty
So, what I did to find out who was drinking from my water bottle, was that I rubbed a hot pepper on the top of the water bottle and put it on display, on my nightstand, and a second water bottle hidden under my bed to drink from myself
That night, when I was pretending to sleep, I see a sergeant enter my room and drink from my water bottle, without knowing anything about the hot pepper I rubbed on it Poor guy started screaming and took another gulp of water to cool off the burn of the pepper, actually getting even more of that burning pepper pieces into his mouth
He angrily looked at me and asked me if I was the one that rubbed pepper on the top of the bottle, and of course I said no
He ended up waking all the poor sleeping soldiers and making them all exercise in the middle of the night trying to get to know who did rub pepper on the bottle, while I laughed to myself and went back to sleep
