Press Checks
Posted on
Saw a video recently of a young guy with ultra eradic hand movements showing off his new Radian ramjet micro-comp.
He press checked, loaded a mag, press checked, racked the slide, press checked, slapoed the slide, shoot two rounds rapidly (micro comp didnt mitigate muzzle rise), press checked again, slapped the slide, shoot two more rounds, unloaded the magazine, press checked, slapped the slide, fired last round, press checked, then locked the slide back.
It was all very rapid. Everyone in that sub glorified his use of rapid press checks. It became a huge controversy. 90% defended him saying he did nothing unsafe and it was clear he knew what he was doing...
Meanwhile I think in all my life, I've never done this. Been shooting for over 30 years, mostly semiautomatics. Ive never felt the need to check if the round I just chambered was still chambered. I have never seen a chambered round magically disappear.
Is the younger generation doing this too much? Is something stealing bullets out of guns?
