Russia’s new chassis for missile systems breaks down during a series of ground tests

A new Russian K7850 (also named KAMAZ-7850 «Platform-O» ) 16×16 special wheeled platform for missile systems broke down during a series of ground tests. The new chassis for missile systems was spotted when it lost the motor-wheel.
The K7850 16×16 special wheeled platform with a lifting capacity of 85 t developed by JSC “Plant of special vehicles” (a subsidiary of the Rostec state corporation).
It should be noted that K7850 are supposed to be used as the mobile ICBM systems` new chassis. There is a plan to integrate them with RS-24 Yars (SS-27 Mod 2) mobile ICBM launchers.
KAMAZ to showcase a new series of military chassis for missile system
In accordance with the instructions of the Ministry of Defense of Russia JSC “Plant of special vehicles” (then composed of “KAMAZ”) in 2010, is working on the research project “Platform” and the ROC “Platform-O” to create a “highly mobile modular platform” for various purposes three types, designed to replace the Russian Armed Forces wheeled platforms Minsk wheel Tractor Plant (MZKT).
Currently the completion of the development of the “Platform” shifted from 2020 to 2022 and at the same time work is underway in the framework of the new research under the code “Compressor”, in which created a family of trucks with a traditional manual transmission, however, the Prime developer on the topic “Compressor” is not selected.
