JSC Remdiesel will upgrade 400 MT-LB multipurpose tracked armoured for Russian army

The Russian Company JSC Remdiesel (a subsidiary of the KAMAZ Company) will upgrade over 400 MT-LB armoured tractors of the Russian Armed Forces, that reported by www.armyrecognition.com.
“Remdiesel will overhaul and upgrade over 400 MT-LB armoured tractors of the Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD). The first batch of 126 tractors to be repaired and upgraded has already been delivered to the company. The MoD will receive 140 enhanced MT-LB vehicles in late 2016,” the source said. According to him, the upgraded tractors have received new diesel engines, advanced lighting facilities, and new tracks. “Remdiesel is producing about 650 types of spare parts for MT-LBs,” the source pointed out.
He said that the company is developing the new variant of MT-LB. “The renewed vehicle has received a hydrostatic transmission and anti-blast seats. We are planning to equip the venerable tractor with electric transmission,” the source said.
The MT-LB is a Soviet-made multipurpose tracked armoured vehicle was designed at the Kharkov Tractor Plant in the Ukraine under the direction of Anatoliy Belousov in the early 1960s.
The MT-LB is mainly used as artillery tractor vehicle in the Russian army, but it can be also used as command post and armoured personnel carrier.
