Deftech of Malaysia unveils new Lipanbara 4×4 HMAV High Mobility Armoured Vehicle at DSA 2016

The latest state of the art 4×4 High Mobility Armoured Vehicle (HMAV) has been named as “Lipanbara”, after the lethal and poisonous centipede found in the Malaysian jungles. This armoured vehicle will be primarily used in hostile zones for insertion and extraction of security troops, as well as for escort duties.
Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak, officiated the naming of the vehicle at the DEFTECH Pavilion during the Defence Sen/ices Asia 2016 exhibition (DSA 2016) at the Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur. The Lipanbara is currently showcased at the DEFTECH pavilion during the entire period of the Defence Services Asia 2016 exhibition at Putra World Trade Centre. Kuala Lumpur from April 18th till 21st, 2016.
“DEFTECH was awarded the contract by the Government of Malaysia to supply 20 units of the Lipanbara worth RM140,980,000 on 7 July 2015, for the Malaysian Army The first unit of the Lipanbara is expected to be delivered to the Malaysian Army by mid 2016”, said Lt Kol (K) Dato’ Amril Samsudin, Group Chief Executive Officer of DEFTECH.
